Dr. Adam Glasofer

Dr. Adam Glasofer is the Founder and Principal of Vertex Health LLC, where he works to help companies succeed in building, using, and deploying healthcare technology. Adam has over 20 years of experience as a physician and healthcare IT executive. He brings his passion and expertise for integrating technology into clinical and care delivery workflows, leading technology implementations, and the evaluation/deployment of emerging technologies. He is a highly effective presenter and consensus builder with extensive experience in leading large-scale change within and across organizations, ranging from early-stage startup to big tech enterprise.

Prior to starting Vertex Health, Adam was the Global Head of Healthcare for Public Sector Venture Capital and Startups at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, he led a team focused on fostering startup communities and driving the adoption of startups with healthcare customers around the world. Within the first year of development, Adam’s team created and delivered the AWS Healthcare Accelerator, which launched several cohorts globally. These efforts have been featured by leading media outlets including Forbes, Bloomberg News, and the Financial Times, and drove tangible benefits for both AWS and the associated AWS Healthcare Accelerator startups.

Before joining Amazon, Adam was Chief Innovation Officer and Associate Chief Medical Information Officer at Virtua Health, where he founded both Virtua’s telehealth program and Center for Innovation. In these roles, he worked closely with clinical and operational leadership, and government agencies to transform clinical workflows through the seamless integration of technology. These projects ranged from leading enterprise EHR and voice technology implementations; to evaluating, developing, and implementing emerging technologies, and even shaping healthcare technology legislation. A pediatric hospitalist by training, Adam continues to practice clinical medicine working as part of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia at Virtua group in a pediatric emergency department.

Adam continues to leverage his clinical, operational, and technical backgrounds, and has firsthand seen the benefits to integrating technology into healthcare delivery. He is board certified in both Pediatrics and Clinical Informatics, and has a Master’s Degree of Science in Health Informatics. Adam has presented globally on topics related to telemedicine and innovation in healthcare, and has served as an advisor to multiple healthcare startups. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Science Center and the National Health IT Collaborative for the Underserved (NHIT). This cumulative experience in the clinical, technical, and business worlds has led Adam to where he is today, as he seeks to effect the largest change possible to improve healthcare for all those along the care delivery spectrum.
