Dr. Adam Glasofer

     Dr. Adam Glasofer is the Founder and Principal of Vertex Health LLC, where he works to help companies succeed in building, using, and deploying healthcare technology. Adam has over 20 years of experience as a physician and healthcare IT executive. He brings his passion and expertise for integrating technology into clinical and care delivery workflows, leading technology implementations, evaluation/deployment of emerging technologies, and scaling startup businesses. Adam is a highly effective presenter and consensus builder with extensive experience in leading large-scale change within and across organizations, ranging from early-stage startup to big tech enterprise.

     At Vertex Health, Adam has a wide-reaching client portfolio spanning high potential early-stage startup to large enterprise non-profit to $2.5B government agency. In these engagements, Adam takes on a variety of responsibilities ranging from leading the development of large-scale innovation programs that create a lasting impact to serving in fractional C-suite roles to strategic advisory. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor to ARPA-H where he has led the build, planning, and execution of the ARPA-H Launchpad program, a government accelerator program that will deploy $70+M in non-dilutive funding to women’s health solutions. Adam also serves as a Strategic Advisor to American Cancer Society BrightEdge, the innovation and impact investing arm of the American Cancer Society. In this role, he led the build and design of Project HEALTH, an accelerator program that aims to advance and amplify the impact of companies developing solutions to address disparities in cancer care.

     Prior to starting Vertex Health, Adam was the Global Head of Healthcare for Public Sector Venture Capital and Startups at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, he led a team of healthtech deep subject matter experts focused on fostering startup communities and driving the adoption of startups with healthcare customers around the world. Adam created and delivered the first ever AWS Healthcare Accelerator, which then launched several cohorts globally. These efforts have been featured by leading media outlets including Forbes, Bloomberg News, and the Financial Times, and drove tangible benefits for both AWS and the associated AWS Healthcare Accelerator startups. Cumulatively, AWS Healthcare Accelerators influenced funding over $400M and 5 acquisitions for cohort companies.

     Before joining Amazon, Adam was Chief Innovation Officer and Associate Chief Medical Information Officer at Virtua Health, where he founded both Virtua’s telehealth program and Center for Innovation. In these roles, he worked closely with clinical leadership, operational leadership, and government agencies to transform clinical workflows through the seamless integration of technology. These projects ranged from leading enterprise EHR and voice technology implementations to evaluating, developing, and implementing emerging technologies to even shaping healthcare technology legislation. A pediatric hospitalist by training, Adam practiced clinical medicine for 15 years working as part of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia at Virtua group in a pediatric emergency department.

     Adam continues to leverage his clinical, operational, and technical backgrounds, and has firsthand seen the benefits to integrating technology into healthcare delivery. He is board certified in both Pediatrics and Clinical Informatics, and has a Master’s Degree of Science in Health Informatics. Adam has presented globally on topics related to telemedicine and innovation in healthcare and has served as an advisor to many healthcare startups. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Science Center and as the Advisory Board Chairman for Liife, Inc. This cumulative experience in the clinical, technical, and business worlds has led Adam to where he is today, as he seeks to effect the largest change possible to improve healthcare for all those along the care delivery spectrum.
